NoRCEL’s ASTROSCIENCE SCIENCE EXPLORATION NETWORK – ASEN
Held its first conference online on 12-13th April 2022. The aim was to encourage African students and scientists to become inspired by the themes of Astroscience and so we began by exploring the different aspects of the subject, which are many and varied. The scope covered many disciplines including: astrobiology, astrochemistry, astrophysics, astronomy, geochemistry, geobiology, bio-sensing, planetary sciences as well as atmospheric sciences etc. This initial foray into delivering Africa -centric events acheived our objective and began to give a valuable insight into the extent and relevance of these diverse scientific fields, especially for those who have had little prior experience of, or minimal access to them. We thank all those academics, students, scientists and practitioners from around the globe who supported this first event for our new project.
