The Institute for Geophysics and Extraterrestrial Physics of the TU Braunschweig (Germany) is looking for a postdoctoral scientist to carry out competitive research on active asteroids and related solar system bodies, including but not limited to preparing strategies and tools to exploit telescope archives for this purpose. The position also includes moderate teaching tasks.
The position is on a fixed-term basis for two years, starting as soon as possible. Review of applications will begin on 2 May 2023 and continue until the position is filled.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a relevant field. Experience with one or more of the following aspects can be advantageous: astronomical data acquisition and analysis, processing of large data sets, numerical simulations of (cometary) dust dynamics, study of small solar system bodies.
