My undergraduate studies at NIT Rourkela played a significant role in helping me understand the foundation of Biotechnology. My internship at Dr. Reddy's Institute of Life Sciences honed my technical skills. Here, I worked on the project: 'Expression of PTK6, a mammalian tyrosine kinase in Schizosaccharomyces pombe to screen small-molecule inhibitors'. This project was exciting, especially in understanding the possibility of the constant upregulation of Tyrosine Kinases resulting in cancer. During my masters’ studies at NIT Bhopal, the most significant project I undertook at CSIR-CCMB was 'Genotyping, characterization and pre-clinical studies of Colorectal Cancer murine models.' This project was crucial in vouching for my interest in cancer research. Further, working as a project associate at CSIR-CCMB added more to my expertise. Here, the theme of my work involved the understanding the aggregation of misfolded alpha-synuclein in Parkinsons disease by trying to develop an in vivo mouse model. I have had two publications in international journals.
