ASEN2023 – Pioneering the dissemination of astroscience in sub-Saharan Africa

With such a diverse nature across Africa, how can we collectively create more awareness of astrosciences in the region? Since 2015 NoRCEL has been delivering inspirational talks and workshops in sub-Saharan Africa, thus striving to expand the knowledge base amongst young people and students. Now NoRCEL has teamed up with local scientists from within our ASEN group to explore possible ways forward to enable extending awareness and education of astroscience in sub-Saharan Africa. O first live event will be held in-person at the M’Kango Golfview Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia on the 1st and 2nd June, 2023.

A Call for Abstract Submissions

We call upon the global astroscience community, including and especially those in Africa to support our efforts and attend this event. A good level of participation is vital to our objectives, as we will also be brain-storming ideas on the way forward with astroscience in Africa. You may forward an abstract submission (up to 500 words) for consideration for an oral presentation at ASEN2023 on any topic related to astrophysics, astrochemistry, astrobiology, geoscience, atmospheric sciences, planet formation etc. Please send these to [email protected]  or contact Sohan Jheeta, at [email protected]. Please help make this particular conference a success, as Africa needs you!
